Wine & Liquor Delivery in Miami and Shipping Across Florida: How It Works

Wine & Liquor Delivery in Miami and Shipping Across Florida: How It Works

Need a bottle of Champagne for tonight, a case of wine for a dinner party in Coral Gables, or a gift sent to someone in Orlando? Getting wine and liquor delivered in Florida is easier than most people think, as long as you know how the rules work.

This guide covers how alcohol delivery works in Miami, how shipping works across Florida, what the law requires, and exactly what to expect when you order from Brickell Wine Bank.

Can You Get Alcohol Delivered in Florida?

Yes. Florida law allows licensed retailers to deliver wine, beer and spirits to customers away from the store. Under Florida Statute 561.57, a licensed vendor can fill phone and online orders and deliver them with its own vehicles, through a contracted delivery partner, or by common carrier such as UPS or FedEx.

There's one firm condition: the recipient's age and identity must be verified at the moment of delivery. That's why every alcohol order in Florida needs an adult who is 21 or older, with a valid ID, to accept it in person.

Florida Alcohol Shipping Laws: What You Need to Know

Florida's rules differ depending on who is shipping and what is being shipped. Here's the short version:

Who is shipping Wine Spirits
Licensed Florida retailer (like Brickell Wine Bank) Yes, within Florida Yes, within Florida
Winery, in-state or out-of-state Yes, direct to consumers Not applicable
Distillery shipping direct to consumers Not applicable No

The key point for spirits: whiskey, tequila, vodka and other liquor can't be shipped straight from a distillery to your door in Florida. Spirits reach consumers through the state's licensed distribution system, which means buying from a Florida-licensed retailer is the reliable way to get them delivered or shipped.

A few other rules apply to every alcohol delivery in Florida:

  • 21+ with ID. The person accepting the order must be at least 21 and show a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID.
  • Adult signature. Shipped alcohol requires an adult signature. Carriers won't leave it at the door.
  • No intoxicated recipients. Drivers must refuse delivery to anyone who appears visibly intoxicated.
  • Local restrictions. A few Florida communities restrict alcohol sales, and deliveries can't go to those areas.

This is a general overview, not legal advice. Laws can change, so check current Florida regulations for your specific situation.

Wine and Liquor Delivery in Miami: Your Options

Brickell Wine Bank offers three ways to get your order, depending on where you are and how fast you need it.

1. Local delivery in Brickell

If you're within one mile of our store at 950 Brickell Bay Dr, we deliver to you directly.

  • Free on orders of $30 or more ($10 flat fee under $30)
  • Monday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
  • Delivered within one business day. Orders after 3:00 PM, on Sundays or on holidays go out the next business day.

Not sure you're in range? Enter your address at checkout or call us and we'll confirm.

2. In-store pickup (the fastest option)

Order online and pick up at the store, usually ready in about an hour. Pickup is free and available during store hours, 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, every day. Just bring your order confirmation and a valid photo ID.

If you need something tonight, after delivery hours, or on a Sunday, pickup is the way to go.

3. Shipping anywhere in Florida

  • Shipped by UPS or FedEx
  • Packed and handed to the carrier within one business day (Monday through Saturday)
  • Shipping cost is calculated at checkout based on your address, the weight of your order and the service level you choose
  • A tracking number is emailed once your order ships

We ship within Florida only. We can't ship to other states.

What to Expect When Your Order Arrives

Have your ID ready

Whether it's our driver or a carrier, someone 21 or older must be present with a valid ID. If no eligible adult is available, the package can't be left behind. Carriers usually make up to three attempts before returning the order to us.

Ordering to a high-rise or gated community

Miami buildings often have valets, concierge desks and secured elevators. A concierge can only accept your order if they're 21 or older and show ID, so the smoothest option is to meet the delivery yourself. Add your unit number and any access instructions in the order notes. Our guide to delivery in Brickell high-rises has building-by-building tips.

Where we can't deliver

  • PO boxes
  • Public parks, beaches and other public spaces
  • Areas where local law prohibits alcohol delivery

Shipping Wine in the Florida Heat

Florida summers are hard on wine. A bottle sitting in a hot truck or on a sunny doorstep can be damaged in hours, with heat pushing corks out and dulling flavor.

During extreme heat, we may hold a shipment until conditions are safer, to protect your order. You can help by:

  • Choosing a faster shipping service for fine or older wines
  • Shipping to an address where someone will be home to sign
  • Using in-store pickup or local delivery for your most valuable bottles
  • Getting bottles into a cool, dark place (55–65°F is ideal) as soon as they arrive

If you're buying a rare or high-value bottle, ask us about the safest way to get it to you. Our Rare Bottle Finder team is happy to help.

If Something Arrives Damaged

Breakage is rare, but it happens. Contact us within 24 to 48 hours of delivery with your order number and photos of the item and packaging, and we'll make it right under our refund policy.
